Fishing Vessel Sponsoning

45-foot Crabber

Originally, a 36-foot fishing vessel with limited cargo capacity. The client contracted Nav Arc Marine to come up with a design to increase the internal hold capacity, this involved increasing the breadth, length, and depth of the vessel.

Nav Arc Marine collaborated with a fiberglass boat builder in Vancouver to create the design for extending and widening the hull. Nav Arc Marine formulated the fiberglass lamination schedule and conducted structural calculations to reinforce the comprehensive design. Nav Arc Marine produced a complete set of design drawings and supporting calculations for the shafting, rudder, and rudder carrier.

After the project, Nav Arc Marine conducted an incline test and subsequently created a final stability book.

All drawings and calculations were submitted and approved by the regulatory authority.
